The Peninsula is full of amazing walks, including longer walks such as the Coastal Walk, the Two Bays and the Bay Trail. Luckily there are also some awesome short walks for when you want a quick fix taking around 45 – 90 mins depending on your speed and propensity to stop for photos. Here are three of my favourites:

  1. Point Nepean (Fort Nepean)

3875 Point Nepean Rd, Portsea VIC 3944

Enter the National Park and drive all the way to the Fort Nepean Carpark, here you can walk just under 3km to Fort Nepean (and then back) making it a beautiful 6km return walk on a paved path.

Best for: ocean views, family (pram) friendly, history

2. Baldrys Crossing Circuit Walk

204 Baldrys Road Main Ridge Victoria 3928

Park in the Picnic area then cross the road for a walk through a beautiful section of Greens Bush.

Best for: lush greenery, feeling remote, nearby to wineries

3. Arthurs Seat Summit

La Trobe Parade Arthurs Seat VIC 3936

For a short steep walk with incredible views, park at the La Trobe Parade Car Park and head up the dirt track winding up Arthurs Seat. It starts gradual but quickly gets steep with steps, kangaroo sightings and verdant botanic gardens at the top (with toilets). Make sure you head back down the exact way you came.

Best for: quick workout, big views, gardens and wildlife
